

Joan Brodrick Mitchell, born on May 6, 1945, in Dayton, Ohio, passed away on December 9, 2025, at the age of 80. A resident of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Joan was known for her kind-hearted nature and her deep love for her family.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Jackie "Jack" Mitchell, with whom she shared a loving marriage since 1966. Joan leaves behind her beloved daughters, Angela Clater (Jim E) and Saundra Cook, along with her cherished grandchildren, Keith (Brittany), Josh (Chelsey), Kaelyn (Andrew), Dakota, Mavrick (Madison), and Kasper. Her legacy extends to her great-grandchildren, Aivery, Callen, Oakleigh, William, Jackson, Charleigh, and Lucas. She is also survived by her sister, Claudia Mitchell (Danny).
Joan was preceded in death by her son, Jack Scott Mitchell, and her sisters, Joyce Scheiding and Janice Dix.
A life member of the 10281 V.F.W. auxiliary, Joan enjoyed shopping and reading, but her true joy was found in her grandchildren, whom she adored.
A visitation will be held on December 18, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am at Brown Funeral Home. Joan will be laid to rest at the Kentucky Veteran Cemetery Central.
