

Jody Meredith, 83, of Rineyville died October 13, 2025 at his residence. He was born on September 9, 1942 in Cecilia and was the son of William “Bill” Meredith and Mary Francis Mulhall Meredith. He attended Howevalley High School. Jody married his loving wife Theda Padgett Meredith on September 14th and just celebrated 57 years of marriage.
Jody spent his career as a welder and owned his own auto body shop. He could take a pile of metal and create a work of art. He was a passionate UK fan and spent many years as a Rineyville volunteer firefighter, a member of the Knights of Columbus – Vine Grove Council, and a founding member of the Rineyville Beagle Club. He was an avid rabbit hunter, bird watcher, and fisherman who spent many early morning hours in his boat on the lake with buddies or Theda, catching the “Big One.”
Jody treasured his wife and two daughters, Lisa and Kelly, and his five grandchildren – Jack, Bella, Sam, Tate, and Nolan who adored their Pop-Pop. Jody was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings, Albert “Al” Meredith, Robert “Bob” Meredith, Leona “Noni” Barnett, Rose Meredith Day, and Bonnie Helm. He is survived by his wife, Theda, and daughters Lisa Rademaker (Thomas) of Louisville and Kelly Owsley (Michael) of Elizabethtown; a sister Patricia “Patty” Sheroan (Bobby) of Elizabethtown and a brother William “Billy” Meredith of Colorado; his five grandchildren, Jack Rademaker, Isabella Higdon, Sam Rademaker, Tate Rademaker, and Nolan Owsley. He was also loved by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown on Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 4:00 to 8:00pm with a prayer vigil at 4:00pm. Funeral Services will be at St. James Catholic Church on Friday, October 17, 2025 at 11am. Burial will be at St. James cemetery immediately following the mass.
