LaVerne Blakey Crawford

LaVerne was born on December 5th, 1945, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Edward Leon and Glennie Elliott Blakey of Elizabethtown.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Norman Francis Crawford; and her son, Norman Francis Crawford, Jr.

She is survived by her son, Eddie (Dianna Jo) Crawford of Elizabethtown; three grandsons, Collie (Elizabeth) Crawford, Reilly (Sabrina) Crawford, and Brady (Paige) Crawford; and great-grandsons, Norman Wayne Crawford and Barrett Edward Crawford.

LaVerne was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was co-owner of Blakey Printing company in Elizabethtown until it sold in 1998. She was a cherished member at Saint James Catholic Church where she enjoyed serving as a eucharistic minister and being a part of the Widowed Friends group.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 10th, 11:00 A.M. at Saint James Catholic Church, 307 West Dixie Avenue, Elizabethtown, with Fr. Shayne Duvall and Fr. Chuck Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Saint James Cemetery, 700 North Miles Street, Elizabethtown.

Visitation will be at Brown Funeral Home, 306 College Street, Elizabethtown, on Thursday night from 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. and again on Friday morning from 9:00 A.M. until procession to Mass. A prayer service will close out visitation time on Thursday at 6:45 P.M.
