

She was born on May 20, 1947 in Lexington, Kentucky to the late Leonard C. and Rosie Lee Jackson Hale.
Linda was a retired teacher from Jefferson County Public Schools and was a member of Sonora Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed art and music.
Linda was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star (Rising Star Chapter 102).
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Christine Hale; one grandson, Devon Stewart Smith; and a nephew, Joseph Carter.
Survivors include her husband, Odell Smith, Jr.; three sons, Odell G. Smith and his wife, Twalla, Leonard D. Smith, and Allan C. Smith; one sister, Wateetah Phillips; one brother, George A. Brown, Jr.; a granddaughter, Alexis C. Smith; cousins, Clarence Embry and Charles Taylor and many other family members and friends.
The funeral is at 12 PM Noon on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.
Burial follows in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
Visitation begins at 9 AM Saturday and continues until the time of service at the funeral home.
