

He was an avid UK Wildcats fan and loved fishing. He started his own auto parts store in 1969 and worked in the business alongside his son until his retirement. He served as a past president of the Jaycees and was a member of Rineyville Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tamra Peterson; his parents, Ray and Katherine Johnson; his brothers Vanley, Ralph, Garland, Ray, and Jesse Johnson; and his sisters, Loretta Taylor, Mary Lee Goodwin and Edith Henderson.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Helen Johnson; his son Troy Johnson; his grandchildren, Christine (Chris) Hamm, Casey Johnson (Ryan Smith), Joshua Johnson, and Lauren Johnson; one great grandson, Ethan Hamm; his sister Vonda (Cordell) Tabb; and his brother Ken (Kimberly) Johnson.
The funeral will be held Monday, July 14th, at 12:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, KY with Pastor Jerry Shacklett officiating. Burial will follow at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
