Mary Higdon

Mary loved to cook and try new recipes, and she found joy working in her yard on warm days. Above all, she loved her family and treasured spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her beloved dogs.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenny Higdon; her parents, Harold and Lillian Lewis; her brother, Wayne Lewis; and sisters, Jean Liken and Lynn Probus.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Deborah Whelan and Daryl Higdon (Robin); grandchildren, Vincent Whelan (Kaylie), Matthew Higdon, Joshua Higdon; great-grandchildren, Kinsley Whelan, Jude Whelan; and several brothers and sisters-in-law, as well as nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

There will be a visitation on Monday, February 23, 2026, from 4 - 8 pm at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, KY. Funeral Mass will start at 11 am on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at St. James Catholic Church. Burial is to follow at St. James Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary's honor to the ASPCA.
