Sister Jackson lived a life of unwavering faith and dedicated service. She was a cofounder of Elim Holiness Tabernacle, where she poured her heart into the work of the Lord and the care of His people. Her steadfast commitment to God was evident in everything she did—through her church involvement, her words of encouragement, her prayers, and her quiet acts of kindness. She walked daily in His love, guiding others with her gentle spirit and compassion.
Beyond her service to God, Sister Jacksons greatest joy was her family. She cherished her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, creating a home where faith, laughter, and love flourished. She poured wisdom, strength, and unconditional love into every generation, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire and guide her family for years to come.
Sister Jackson was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. James Edward Jackson of 59 years; her parents, Thomas and Ruby Boyd; her sons, Jim Jackson, Kenneth Jackson and Barry Jackson; her brothers, Billy Boyd, Thomas Boyd, and Reuben Boyd; and her sister, Alice Larimore.
She is survived by her loving children: sons Martin Jackson (Debbi) and Tim Jackson (Missy); daughters Joanna Jackson (Eric), Eva Hay (Brian), and Rebecca Thornburg (Kevin); her brother, Pete Boyd; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a special friend and best friend, Gladys Cothern, all of whom were deeply blessed by her love, prayers, and example of faith.
She will be deeply missed by her family, church family, and all who knew her. Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in knowing she is at peace in the presence of her Savior.
Visitation will be held at Brown Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 20th, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., and will continue Wednesday, January 21st, at Elim Holiness Tabernacle from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m.
