Mary Owen

Mary Helen Owen, born on October 20, 1926, passed away on January 22, 2026, at the age of 99. Mary was a cherished individual whose life was marked by her dedication to her family and her many interests.

Mary enjoyed China painting, dollmaking, gardening, and playing golf. These hobbies brought her joy and fulfillment throughout her life.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Nell Hayes; her grandson, John Jake Owen; and 6 siblings.

Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of almost 80 years, Charles Owen. She is also survived by her children, Darlene Pyles, Chuck Owen and his wife Sandy, and Harry Owen and his wife Jane. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Mike Pyles, Missy Pyles, Nikki Bonifer, Shelley Ramsey, Charlie Owen, and Jim Owen, as well as her 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Thelma Hayes.

Mary's family extends their gratitude to all the wonderful staff at Helmwood Healthcare, including Braelyn, Holly, Tamara, Teresa, Brenda, and Alexandria, as well as her hospice nurses, Bonnie and Lorie, for their compassionate care and support.

Mary Helen Owen will be remembered with love and admiration by all who knew her. Her memory will be cherished by her family and friends for years to come.
