Mattie Mary Smallwood

She was born May 22, 1929 to Hoy W. and Maggie G. Brown Evans in Rattan, LA. She was a longtime member of Round Top Baptist Church in Elizabethtown.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband, Harold B. Smallwood of Elizabethtown, a sister, Glorianna G. Evans Humphreys of MS, a grandson, Brian A. Smallwood of Elizabethtown, and a sister-in-law, Betty Evans, of MS.

She is survived by a son, Harley Wayne Smallwood (Jean) of Elizabethtown; two daughters, Gloria Smallwood Chalk (Dennis) of Mason, OH and Karen J. Smallwood of Elizabethtown; two grandchildren, Susan Chalk of Mason, OH and Joshua Smallwood of Elizabethtown and a brother, Ivy Evans of MS.

The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Donnie Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and continue after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Round Top Baptist Church or to Gideons International.
