

Born on September 25, 1930, in Glendale, Kentucky, Mazell was the daughter of the late Archie and Bertha Alvey Caswell.
Mazell was a resident of Rineyville, Kentucky, where she lived a life of dedication and service.
She was married to Charles David Patterson for 42 years, and together they raised their five sons.
A devoted member of the Rineyville Baptist Church for 71 years, Mazell taught Sunday school for 54 years, sharing her faith and wisdom with generations of students. Her devotion to her church and community was unwavering, and her impact was profound.
Mazell's life was characterized by her deep love for everyone around her. She was a very hard-working lady who placed God above all else, leaving a legacy of kindness and devotion that will be remembered by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents; three sons, John, Danny and Jimmy Patterson; siblings, Richard, Bessie, Alvina, and Juanita; and a special friend, Frank White.
Survivors include her two sons, David Patterson and his wife, Joyce and Michael and his wife, Rhonda; siblings, Christine, Cathy, and Jim; six grandchildren, Janet, Andy, Jamie, Nathan, Kaitlyn, and Jordan; several loved great- grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter; a close friend, Patsy Bennett; and many church friends and family.
The funeral is at 11 AM on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Rineyville Baptist Church with Brother Jerry Shacklett officiating.
Burial follows in Rineyville Cemetery.
Visitation will begin on Friday, January 2nd from 3 to 8 PM and continue after 9 AM Saturday until the time of service all at Rineyville Baptist Church.
