

Born on July 10, 1926, in Williamsburg, KY, she was the daughter of Connie Slaton, Jr. and Fannie Davenport Slaton. She grew up alongside eight siblings, forming bonds that lasted a lifetime. She was the proud wife of Dr. Henry Howard Bunch, Sr. and loving mother of four children, whom she adored beyond measure. Her love for them was unwavering, and she supported them with wisdom, warmth, and endless devotion throughout their lives.
Mossie overcame many obstacles and trials throughout her life, to include raising her young children after the passing of her beloved husband, Henry. She later attended school throughout the summers to obtain a degree in Speech Pathology through University of Kentucky.
As a teacher and speech pathologist, she changed countless lives through her patience, encouragement, and deep belief in every person’s potential. Her work was not just a profession, but a reflection of her generous spirit and desire to serve others.
Known for her gentle heart, quiet strength, and thoughtful presence, Mossie will be remembered for the care she showed to everyone she met. Her legacy lives on through her family, her students, and all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
She is preceded in death by her father, Connie Slaton, Jr. and mother, Fannie Davenport Slaton, her beloved husband, Dr. Henry Howard Bunch, Sr., daughter, Pamela Suzanne Bunch, and son, Timothy Charles Bunch. She is also preceded in death by seven of her siblings - Clifford Slaton, Maude Randall, Dudley Slaton, Ruth Basye, Enoch Slaton, Pauline Kennedy, and Evelyn Greene.
She is survived by her brother, Clyde Slaton (Ruth), her daughter Patricia Patrick (Larry, Sr.), and son, Dr. Henry Howard Bunch, Jr. (Susan), six grandchildren - Suzanne Patrick McClintick (Kevin), Larry Patrick Jr., Leslie Bunch Curl, Dr. Charles Bunch (Victoria), Nathan Johnson, and Kelli Bunch (Tyler), 10 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Her life was defined not by years alone, but by the love she gave, the traditions she created, and the memories she leaves behind.
Visitation will be 10:00 AM until the funeral hour Saturday, January 3, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Williamsburg, KY.
Funeral service will be 12:00 PM Saturday, January 3, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Williamsburg, KY, with Rev. Gerald Mullins Officiating. Interment will be in Highland Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in her honor.
