She was a native of Shreveport, LA and a member of St. James Catholic Church. She was a teacher for 30 years in four states, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph W. Cherry and Winna Workman Cherry and a brother, Douglas Cherry.
Survivors include her husband of 22 years, James S. Russell; one daughter, Kami Perkins of Conway, SC; one son, William Farmer and four grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church.
Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 - 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
