

Raised in Hardin County from a young age, he graduated from Howevalley High School in 1958 and attended Campbellsville College briefly on a basketball scholarship; he retired from the Gates Rubber Co. He and Sue were faithful members of College Heights Methodist Church since 1972. He enjoyed singing in the choir and playing on the dartball team. He also enjoyed volunteering in the gift shop at Hardin Memorial Hospital for many years. As a member of the Stephensburg Masonic Lodge #212 for 57 years, he served as Master in 1972 and 2014, and he and Sue diligently helped with the monthly fish frys. Recently, he had joined the Morrison Masonic Lodge #76 in E’town and he was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Pirtle Chapter #449. He was also a proud member of the Howevalley Alumni Association and regularly attended their annual meetings.
Born in Breckenridge County, he was the youngest son of Ezra Herman and Mabel Mae Minter Flowers. He was married to Marjorie Sue Dunn Flowers in 1962, until her death 11/23/20.
In addition to his parents and spouse, he was predeceased by two sisters, baby Freeda Joyce Flowers and Anna Mildred Flowers Pierce (and her 2 infant children); a brother, Thomas Milton Flowers and his wife Garna; his stepmother Isabelle Yates George Flowers; his in-law’s James Berthyal “JB”. and Thelma Pearl Holbert Dunn; two brothers-in-law, Tilman Givan and Jimmy Dunn; and a nephew, Bobby Lee Givan.
He is survived by three children, Rhonda Kaye Flowers Alfredson (David), Darren Lenn Flowers DMD, and Trevor Scott Flowers (Lindy); seven beloved grandchildren, Christopher Andrew Eubank (Lindsay), Sgt. Major Matthew Stephen Eubank (Megan and daughter Hannah), Jordan David Alfredson (Shelby), Brody Darren Flowers, Shay Elyse Flowers, Raylen Jo Flowers, Cash Grayson Flowers, and two great grandchildren; a sister, Gladys Givan and family; a brother, Joe Flowers (Margaret) and family; Thomas’s family; a brother-in-law Michael Dunn and family; a sister-in-law Frances Dunn and family; as well as dearly loved nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends, including many special friends at Willow Creek Senior Living.
Visitation will be held at Brown Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 10 am until 12:45 pm. A Masonic service will be at 1 pm, followed by the funeral at 2 pm. Burial will follow at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
