Raphael Mark Shircliff

Mark was a Highschool graduate who carried the values of hard work, loyalty, and consistency into every chapter of his life. Those who knew him best understood that he was a man who found joy in the simple, meaningful routines that made life rich.

He retired after 40 years from Kroger, where he served as a pricing coordinator. Over the course of his long career, Mark was respected for his dedication, reliability, and strong work ethic.

Mark was preceded in passing by his parents, Raphael A. Shircliff and Rita J. Lockard Shircliff and brother, Greg Shircliff. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Rosie Shircliff, who was the love of his life and his partner in all things. Together, they built a life filled with companionship, laughter, and shared traditions that became the heart of their family. He also leaves behind his stepson, Clint Moon; his brother, Joe Shircliff and his wife Brenda; his sister, Roni Richie and her husband Mike; his grandchildren, Abby Knight and Brayden Baker; and many nieces and nephews.

Mark and Rosie met while dancing, and that joyful beginning became the foundation of a lifetime of shared happiness. Dancing remained one of their cherished traditions, and they continued to enjoy it together on Fridays. Saturdays were often reserved for fishing, where Mark found peace and pleasure in time spent outdoors. Sundays were made for football and basketball, especially cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and the University of Kentucky Wildcats. These were the rhythms of a life well lived, filled with favorite pastimes, familiar comforts, and the company of those he loved most.

He also loved riding his Harley motorcycle, and the open road held a special appeal for him. Whether he was out for a ride, spending time with family, or enjoying a game, Mark appreciated the moments that brought people together and made lasting memories. He had a way of making ordinary days feel special, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Mark’s life was one of faithfulness, devotion, and enduring love. He leaves behind a family bound together by his example and by the many memories they shared with him over the years. Though his passing leaves a great emptiness, his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, in the traditions he treasured, and in the quiet strength he brought to every part of his life.

Visitation will occur on Thursday, July 30, 2026 from 10AM-1PM with a Funeral Service to follow at 1PM.

Mark will be laid to rest in New Freedom Church Cemetery in Leitchfield, Kentucky.
