

Ronald David Ronk, a devoted husband and father who loved and followed Christ above all, passed away on December 14, 2025, at his home beside his Christmas trees, at the age of 79. Born on March 25, 1946, in Huntington, West Virginia, Ronald led a life marked by service and dedication to his family, faith, and community.
Ronald graduated from Huntington East High School and furthered his education at Marshall University. He achieved a master's degree from Southern Seminary in Louisville, preparing him for a life of service as a minister.
His career was distinguished by his roles as a retired minister of New Hope Community Church and as an elementary teacher in Hardin County Schools. Ronald also served his country with honor, spending three years in the Army, including two years in Vietnam.
Ronald was married to his beloved wife, Sharon Kay Ronk, for nearly 49 years. He is survived by Sharon, his daughter Mary Beth Keffer and her husband Steven, of Elizabethtown and his son Jonathan David Ronk and his wife Hannah also of Elizabethtown. He leaves behind his brother, Patrick Ronk and his wife Judy of West Virginia, and sisters-in-law Kathy Halley and her husband John of South Carolina, and Debbie Suiter of Elizabethtown.
Ronald was a proud grandfather to Payton Harrison Keffer, Kaylynn Michelle Keffer, Annaleigh Grace Keffer, Marshall David Ronk, and Bella Marie Ronk. He is also remembered by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cledis Ronk and Roma Maxwell Ronk, and his sister, Phyllis Samples and her husband, Bill Samples.
Ronald's legacy of devotion and faith will be cherished by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at 2:30 P.M. at New Hope Community Church in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
