Chief Warrant Officer Black was retired from the U.S. Army with 21 years of service and served two tours in the Vietnam War.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, George and Delora Black; three brothers; four sisters; and one son, Michael Black.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Erika; a daughter, Kathy (Dale) Buckles of Elizabethtown; five grandchildren, Dr. Andrew Buckles, Dr. Avery (Rachel) Buckles, Dr. Adrianne Buckles, and Brandon and Hailey Black; and a great-grandson, Emmitt Buckles.
The funeral is on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Burial will follow at KY Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
