

He was born in Louisville, KY to Clarence Bruce Claggett and Kathryn Heck Claggett. He retired from Olin Chemical in Brandenburg as a Lab Chemist for 45 years, was a member of Grand Lodge #868 in Irvington for 65 years and served as City Judge in Irvington in the late 70's.
William was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Patty Ann Dugan and two siblings, Betty Edgell and Kathryn Hamilton.
Survived by his wife of 40 years, Wilma Ruth Claggett; three sons, Michael of San Jose, Mexico, William Patrick of Elizabethtown and Jon David of Indiana; his second family who he loved very much, Sandra Ramsey (David), Tommy Davis (Shirley) and Jimmy Davis (Ann); three brothers, Bruce Claggett (Lorene), Bob Claggett (Sandy) and Alan Claggett (Linda); grandchildren and great grandchildren who he was so proud and his furry friend, Mandy, his pal.
Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with a Memorial Service immediately following at 4 p.m. with Chaplain Barry Christensen officiating.
Interment will be at a later date in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Irvington.
