He was a native of Jefferson County and was a truck driver, where he formerly drove for Smith's and Sears.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Brown Kays; one daughter, Karen (George); son, Tom; step daughter, Kathy (Dion); 5 grandchildren, Bailey, Chess, Corey, Billy and Samuel and 2 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
