

Angela Marie Standerfer, 41, of Elk Rapids, passed away after her courageous strength she showed for the past 9 years, on June 4, 2014. She was born in Traverse City on March 17, 1973 to James Earl and Judith Ann (Tompkins) Standerfer.
Angela was recently employed by The Vein Center in Traverse City, and also had owned and operated a Landscape business for many years. She loved everything to do with the water including boating, kayaking, fishing, swimming and waterskiing. Angela also loved to garden. She was an expert in this area. She had a passion for music; playing piano, attending concerts and dancing were some of her favorite things to do. She also loved to dress up and go out. Since she was born St. Patrick’s Day, Angela had a real affinity for that holiday and rarely missed an opportunity to celebrate.
Angela is survived by her parents Jim and Judy Standerfer, brothers Tony (Christine) Standerfer & Jim (Mary) Standerfer, grandmother Marie Tompkins, nephews and nieces Zac and Jake Standerfer, Sydney and Sophie Standerfer, many aunts, uncles and cousins and Godsons Jake Standerfer and Antonio Vasquez. She is also survived by her special friends Edward Havens and Amy Beehler, and finally, her devoted dog Woody.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Earl & Sophie Standerfer, Grandfather Frank Tompkins, and Uncles Bob Standerfer and Jim Tompkins
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13, 2014 from 5pm-7pm at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Elk Rapids, with a Vigil for the Deceased at 7pm. Mass from the Order of Christian Funeral s will be celebrated at 11am on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Elk Rapids, with Rev. Robert J. Zuchowski presiding.
