

Carol A. Livingston, age 72, of Elk Rapids passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 14, 2014 with her family at her side at Munson Hospice House. She was born January 28, 1942 in Owendale to Alfred and Doris (Volz) Schnepp.
Carol graduated from Owendale High School in 1960. She went on to the University of Michigan Flint where she received her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Accounting. Carol married Kenneth M. Livingston Jr. on August 15, 1964 in Bach. Together they raised two sons.
Carol was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Flushing, and later, after moving to Elk Rapids, was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church. She was active in the "Wednesday Piecemaker" and "Sewority Sisters" quilting groups providing quilts to the local Police and Fire Rescuers and Homeless American Veterans. She loved sewing, reading, cooking, baking, canning and occasionally fishing with Ken. She was a devoted wife and mother and loved spending time with her family.
She will be greatly missed by her husband of almost 50 years Kenneth of Elk Rapids; two sons Donald Livingston of Uxbridge, Mass. And Scott (Susan) Livingston of Clarkston, MI; 2 grandsons: Zachary and Matthew Livingston; sister Mary (Phil) Albrecht of Muskegon, and Aunt Dorothy Schnepp and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides her parents, Carol was preceded in death by a brother James Schnepp and a niece Heather Albrecht.
A visitation will be held Sunday, May 18, 2014 from 5 – 8 pm at the Covell Funeral Home in Elk Rapids. A funeral service will be held Monday, May 19, 2014 at 11 am at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Elk Rapids. Burial will take place Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at 1pm at Bendle Cemetery in Clayton Township.
