

Pauline L. Haines 90, of Traverse City, Kewadin, and Englewood FL, died Monday, March 7, 2011 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Ludington on May 3, 1920, the daughter of Lawrence and Belle Emily (O’Dell) Bargy. Pauline married Charlie Haines on May 5, 1937 in Elk Rapids. She was a member of the Kewadin United Methodist Church. She was a cook for the Elk Rapids Schools for 23 years, and enjoyed cooking for large family gatherings at her Elk Lake home. Pauline was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children; John (Susan) Haines of Sarasota FL, Edie (Doug) Brown of Traverse City and Englewood FL, and Betty (David) Haines of Northport FL., (38) grandchildren, and (3) great-grandchildren. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, her Husband Charlie Haines in 1999, her son Chuck Haines in 2007, and three brothers; Erwin Bargy, Calvin Bargy, and John Bargy. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 11, 2011 from 5-8 pm at Covell Funeral Home, 312 Pine St, Elk Rapids. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 1pm, at the Funeral Home with additional visitation one hour prior. Rev. Eugene L. Baughan will officiate. Burial will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery in the spring. The family would like to thank the staff of the Grand Traverse Pavilions for the wonderful care given to her over the past five years. Memorials may be given in Pauline’s name to the Kewadin United Methodist Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home, Elk Rapids.
