Ruth grew up in Thornwood, New York and graduated from the University of Michigan. She met her husband John (Jack) Edick in the dining hall there and they married in 1953. Their early years of marriage were spent in Kodiak, Alaska while Jack served in the Navy. Kodiak was a source of many fond memories which Ruth loved to share. Ruth and Jack raised four children in Wickliffe, Ohio during their working years. While raising her own children, Ruth pursued her love of childhood education by teaching and co-directing Nursery School at Shoregate United Methodist Church in Euclid, OH. After retirement Ruth & Jack built their dream home on family property in Elk Rapids, MI where they spent 25 happy years looking at The Bay. During their 65 years of marriage, they were able to travel the world together.
Ruth is survived by her husband Jack; children Cliff, Kathy (Tom), David (Vicki), Lynne (Patrick); grandchildren Allison (Drew), Jennifer (Rick), Paige, Delos, Connor; and great-grandchild Ricky. Ruth's loving spirit for family and friends was unconditional, and she will be dearly missed.
