Theodore "Ted" G. Salveta, age 88 of Elk Rapids passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018 at Samaritas Assisted Living. Ted. was born on August 5, 1930 in Detroit, MI. to Gabriel and Theresa (Secondini) Salveta. He was raised in the Detroit area, and graduated from Pershing High School in 1948. On October 22, 1949 he married the former Helen Delores Hammaker.
Ted was employed at HB Stubbs in Warren, Mi. where he was the lead foreman for displays and exhibits. In 1967 he started his own business, Display Producers Inc., and operated that with his family until his retirement in 1998. He was a very creative individual, and was an industry pioneer in his field. He was a very "people person" individual, and his employees were his extended family, and he loved spending time in his work environment. He and Delores built a home in Elk Rapids, MI. in 1979, and after his retirement in 1991, they moved there from Southfield.
In his spare time, he enjoyed boating, fishing, and loved to ride his bike. He is also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elk Rapids.
Ted is survived by his wife Delores, and children; Ted, Daniel, David (Michelle), and Tom (Anna) Salveta. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Robert in 2013, and 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
Visitation will be held at the Covell Funeral Home in Elk Rapids on Tuesday, December 18th from 4-8 p.m. and at Sacred Heart Church on Weds. the 19th from 10:00 a.m. until time of the funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will then continue downstate at the A.J. Desmond Funeral Home in Royal Oak on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. with a funeral service held at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
