

Virginia (Ginny) Anderson, age 83, of Williamsburg passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 26, 2015, at Munson Medical Center with her family by her side. Ginny was born December 16, 1931, in Crown Point, Indiana, to Roy C. and Mary H. (Hixson) Fagen. She graduated from Crown Point High School in 1949 and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education at Michigan State University. On April 17, 1954, Ginny married Allen K. Anderson in Crown Point, Indiana. Together they raised three children in Elk Rapids and enjoyed 61 years of married life together.
Ginny taught elementary school in LaGrange Park, Illinois, and in Elk Rapids. For 35 years, she loved her home on Elk Lake before retiring to Cedar Creek Commons in Traverse City, and enjoying her winters in Cape Canaveral, Florida. Ginny enjoyed traveling the world, scuba diving, bridge, golfing, fishing, gardening, and being with her family and friends. Ginny also volunteered at Munson Medical Center for 15 years. She was a kind and caring individual, and was much beloved by all who met her.
Ginny is survived by her husband Allen, children: Beth Anderson of Gaylord and Ken (Suzanne) Anderson of Williamsburg; and 3 grandchildren: Kacey, A.J., and Charley Anderson.
Besides her parents, Ginny was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Lee Anderson, and a brother, R. Lee Fagen.
Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and the family will gather for greetings and an informal memorial service at Grace Chapel at Hope Village in Acme at 3:00 p.m.,Sunday, May 3, 2015.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Grand Traverse Industries, 2883 Arrow Park Dr., 49686, a non-profit organization that provides employment for handicapped individuals.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home of Elk Rapids.
