Eileen I am so sorry to hear about Bill's passing. What a terrible loss for all that knew and loved him. I am so thankful I had the privilege of meeting you both on my visit with Debbie in the Spring. I continue to think of you all. My sincere sympathy to you all. Although I had just met the two of you, I feel I had gained two new friends. Love to you and the girls and their families. Sue Bromley

Dear Eileen and family,
Sending our deepest sympathy to you all. We will be keeping you all in our prayers. We were so sad to hear of Bill's passing. Our Lord must have needed him in Heaven. May God Bless you all during this most difficult time.

Eileen, Hannah and Allison,

Upon hearing the news of Bill, my heart just mourned..... I have so many wonderful memories growing up of Mr. Burgess, all the way from your lovely home in Grand Ledge, to your newer home in Lansing, to the times that I was blessed to spend time with you all at your beautiful cottage up north. Mr. Burgess always shared the warmest greetings with me whenever I would come over to hang out or just to briefly visit. He had such a jovial and loving spirit that always lit up the room. I feel so blessed that I was able to grow up with the positive influence of Bill and your family. I have the fondest of memories with you that I will always treasure. My thoughts and prayers go out to you all for peace, comfort and love at this time. Bill's light will always shine down to all of those that he has touched and now he will always be a guardian angel at your side. Much love to you all.........❤

Eileen--Hannah--Allison,
So sorry to hear of Bill's passing. He was a cherished friend and it was a privileged to have know him. We had some outstanding Whitetail deer hunts together. Our Thoughts and Prayers are with you. God Bless.

Thinking of you and the girls. We thought of Bill everytime we saw a Heartland Dist. truck catch our eye driving out on the hwy. Bill was a huge help to our family in our time we needed him and truly respected him in his trust in us and helping us out. It has been our pleasure to have known this great guy.

For ten years, I had the privilege of working with Bill. He was a bright and vigorous business person who was very principled in his moral thoughts and actions at work and his personal life. He was an inspiring leader and rich in his counsel. He earned respect but he always gave it. Bill often referred to making good choices as a foundation for good business decisions and success in life. Bill made the best of choices in his life-mate Eileen as his wife. His guidance and support for Hannah and Allison were in the image that he lived and worked. Perhaps, there will be a day when Bill and I can once again enjoy a cigar together. Thank you, Bill, for knowing you enriched my life and many others. Miserere animae tuae Deus per omnia saecula saeculorum.
                                                                  Rolland D. Fields (Charleston, WV)

So sorry to learn of Bill's death. We were in high school together and I was hoping to see him at our 50th reunion. Rest in peace, Bill.

Eileen, Hannah, and Allison,
We are sorry to hear about Bill. It seems like we were always laughing when we talked with him. He was a great guy. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I don't know where to start or end telling how this loss leaves so many of us wounded. I hope the healing includes many stories of Bill filled with laughter and tears. Memories of him, for so many family member and friends, will forever be around us. For that I will be continually grateful. Bon Voyage buddy. See ya on the back nine, on the bay, and rolling up in the 'goat' with that big grin on your face.

Eileen and family, Our hearts are heavy, we are so sorry for your loss during this very difficult time. Bill is Rob's good buddy and he will be sorely missed. Keeping Bill, you and your family in our prayers. In deepest sympathy,

Hannah and Allison,

I'm so, so sorry about your dad. Thinking about you both and praying for your family. May perpetual light shine upon him.

We are deeply saddened by Bill's loss, and we extend our sincere condolences to the family. Bill's presence in the neighborhood will be missed. He was a good friend and neighbor who always had time to stop and chat. He will be fondly remembered.

Oh, Eileen. I was so shocked and sad to hear Bill has passed away. I haven't seen you for several years, but always remember what good friends you and Bill were in the past. Praying for you and your family. Love, Mary Ellen

Our deepest sympathy to you Barb and your whole family. May his memory be a blessing.

Dear Eileen and Allison and Hannah and family,
Sending you love as you heal. Your dad was a gem and I know he will be dearly missed by many. I always enjoyed his smiling face and engaging in conversation with him. His relationship with your mom was such an example of a beautiful, healthy marriage. May his love and presence shine on and on! I love you, Lisa

My deepest sympathy for your loss. I knew Bill from high school, we would sometimes walk home together after school. Was looking forward to seeing him at our reunion in September. Rest in peace Bill.

Bill and his family were neighbors of ours in East Lansing as children. So sorry to learn of this news. My condolences and sympathy to all of his family and friends.

Eileen, Hanna, and Allison, I am so sorry for your loss. I have such fond memories of Bill at work and at play. He was my boss but also a friend not only to just me but to my entire family. My last correspondence with him, we shared pics of our granddaughters. He loved being a grandpa. We lost him way too early. Prayers to all of you.

Eileen and family, Melanie and I are so sorry for your loss. I remember first meeting Bill when he coached Kate at St. Gerard. I knew he would be a great coach based on his height alone. Bill turned out to be patient, knowledgeable, and kind. He continued to show those traits for as long as I knew him. Our Wednesday group missed him after your move up north, but he continued to make the effort to see us all periodically. He will be well remembered. Steve and Melanie Clark

Eileen, our hearts and thoughts are with you and your family. Losing Bill is a great loss for all of your friends also, which are many. We are on standby for anything we can do to help. Love and prayers.

I met Bill several years ago at one of our car clubs , Thursday breakfasts . I found Bill to be one of the most likable people that I ever met . Bill would always look you in the eye and listen to what you had to say . I enjoyed talking to Bill about cars and MSU football . Bills passing is so disturbing and sad . Rest in piece and God bless the Burgess family .

We feel so blessed to have had some time to get to know such a kind, gracious and fun loving man! His life was cut too short for sure, but he leaves behind so many people who had such admiration for him! Go Now in Peace My Friend!

Wayne and Sue Budde

When you know someone for 50+ years it's hard to say good bye to Bill who always had a smile on his face. We will remember Bill every time we hear the song, "Little GTO". We will miss Bill but will never forget him. Rest in peace and God bless the Burgess family. Rusty and Sandy Barnes
