

Ai Shin Lee Kim, 98, died of natural causes and went to Jesus on Wednesday, A April 25, 2012 at Keswick Multicare Center, Baltimore, Maryland. She was under a doctor's care. Formerly of Columbia, Maryland, Mrs. Kim retired from Head Company in 1990 at the age of 77.
She was born on August 1, 1913 in Wonsan, North Korea, the daughter of the late Ung Man Lee and Sung Nyeo Han. A strong Christian throughout her life, Mrs. Kim was introduced to Christianity by her paternal grandmother who was converted by a missionary. Mrs. Kim was a member of Bethel Korean Presbyterian Church in Ellicott City.
In 1945 Mrs. Kim escaped from North Korea with her husband and two young children and settled in Seoul, South Korea where Mrs. Kim established a silk dress business. She emigrated from Korea to the United States in 1966 to live with her son's family. In 1974 she became a U.S. citizen.
She was married on September 10, 1931 in Chungjin, North Korea, to Poo Kang Kim who predeceased her. Mrs. Kim is survived by her son H. B. Kim and daughter Sun Ok Lee, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. One granddaughter, Mindy Lee preceded her to heaven.
