Her struggle with COPD now over, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-one years, Ronald James Pfeffer, in 2023, and her son David Pfeffer in 2022.
Born on August 3, 1947 in Urbana, Ohio, Audrey lived a life of love, perseverance, and dedication to her family.
She never made it to high school, and had no memory of her father. She was raised by others in Gulf Port, Mississippi until the age of 9 when her mother, whom she had not known, decided to move her back to Washington D.C. to live with her. She was 15 when she met Ronald (17), and married that year.
Audrey is deeply loved and will be sorely missed by her family, whom she loved with all her heart. She created a home filled with love and gave everything within her power for her family. Her happiest times were spent just being with her children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren. She found joy in service to others and was known for her giving heart; she noticed the needs of others without them having to ask, and was always eager to help. Her family was her life and she has always been its heartbeat.
Audrey loved the Lord and her church family. She cherished her time with the little ones, and teaching them about Jesus. She will be missed by family and her brothers and sisters in Christ at Missionary Bible Baptist Church, where she worshiped and served.
The family extends their sincere gratitude to VNA of Hanover, Home Health Hospice, for their compassionate care through this difficult time.
Above all, Audrey was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children Laurie Gabler and Ronald James Pfeffer, Jr.; and 16 grandchildren and great-grandchildren - Ariel Pfeffer, Leslie Gallagher (& Paul), Grant and Nora; Lauren Lackey (& Robbie), Skylar and Guinevere; Elizabeth Pfenson (& Thomas), Silas, Michael, and Philip; James Pfeffer (& Emily), Caleb and a new addition in July; and Marissa Rhodes (& Austin), and Austin, Jr.
Audrey confessed her personal relationship with her Savior Jesus Christ, and wished the same for family and friends.
