Carol Holehan Kendrick, age 79, passed away quietly at her niece’s home in Jarrettsville, Maryland on Friday, January 21, 2022. She was born to Howard and Louise Holehan on October 18, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland. Her husband of 58 years, Oliver Hamilton Kendrick, preceded her in death in October 2020.
While raising three children, Carol was an Executive Assistant to senior leaders in the financial, healthcare, newspaper, and government sectors. Upon “retirement,” she became the Director of The Lutheran Church of St Andrew’s Preschool in Silver Spring. She also founded the Church’s Community Nurse program. She loved “little people,” helping others, her dogs, reading, cheering youth wrestling, and travel. Her faith in God was paramount in her life.
Carol is survived by her son, Brian Kendrick and wife, Kim Kendrick of Herndon, VA; son, Carl Kendrick of Virginia Beach, VA; a daughter; grandchildren, Katherine, Benjamin, Joseph, Joshua and Abigail; her sisters Mary Jo Peisinger (Albert) and Ann Blackburn; and many nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Howard.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research at https://www.alzinfo.org/donate/donation_form/. The Fisher Center’s mission is to understand the causes of Alzheimer’s disease, improve the care of people living with it, and find a cure.
