

Cheryl “Sandy” Lorraine Kuhn, born on January 16, 1952, in Baltimore, Maryland, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025, at her home in Sykesville, Maryland. She was the cherished daughter of Earl Edward Welsh, Sr., and Margaret Welsh. Sandy was the beloved wife of John Michael Kuhn, Sr., with whom she shared 54 years of devoted marriage, and the loving mother of John Michael Kuhn, Jr. who is married to Laura Kuhn.
She was lovingly raised by her grandparents, Gertrude 'Mom Mom' Kraft, and Charles 'Pop Pop' Kraft, who played a significant role in her upbringing. She was the proud grandmother of Anna Grace Kuhn and adored her loyal Shih Tzu, Sophie, affectionately known as her “spoiled rotten princess.” Sandy was preceded in death by her twin brother, Earl “Rocky” Welsh, who is survived by his wife, Marlene. Sandy is also survived by several cousins.
Sandy lived a life filled with simple joys and meaningful hobbies. She enjoyed gardening, painting ceramics, reading, and watching television. She was always laughing and loved to make others laugh with her. She loved scratching lottery tickets and had a passion for travel, with memorable trips to Las Vegas, Reno, New Orleans, and a cruise to Mexico. Whether she was exploring new places or enjoying the excitement of gambling, Sandy embraced each experience with enthusiasm and a warm, joyful spirit.
