Born December 28, 1935 in the family home on Link Avenue in Arbutus, he was the son of George and Marie Oberender Judge. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Suzanne Howser Judge, three children - Michael (Tina) of Fisherville, Va., Robert (Katie) of Elkridge, Md. and Stephen (Megan) of Booths Corner, Pa. and seven grandchildren Ian (Lindsay), Ben, Sarah, Austin, Perry, Marshall, and Rebecca, along with sisters Liz (Pete) and Eleanor (Steve) of Baltimore. He was predeceased by older siblings George, Richard, Ronald and Arlene.
A 1954 graduate of Catonsville High School, he started his career at Stirling, Morris and Company. A promotion opened the spot to hire a new employee – Suzanne Howser, whom he married in 1960.
He joined Robert Garrett and Sons – then the nation’s second oldest brokerage house – in 1960 and advanced to position of vice president/comptroller. He moved to Baker, Watts and Company as Director of Operations in 1974 and Ferris and Company in Washington, D.C. in 1983. After helping the two firms merge into Ferris, Baker Watts in 1989, he concluded his business career as a consultant with Sungard Systems.
His volunteer work began as treasurer for Holy Nativity Lutheran Church in Arbutus, serving through the church’s move to a new facility in 1973. He served as usher at the early service until age 80.
In January 1974, the board of Greisenheim asked for his assistance on financial matters on a temporary basis. He stayed through 2014 as the community moved to Towson in 1985. He became president in 1999 and chairman of the board in 2000, guiding the facility’s expansion.
He enjoyed visiting the Outer Banks of North Carolina with family and friends from a first visit in 1961. A house in Duck became a welcome retreat from season opening Easter weekend until Thanksgiving gatherings.
His Robert Garrett connection opened the way to a share of Baltimore Orioles season tickets which he held for 38 years. Being behind Orioles dugout helped younger relatives snag stray baseballs from the players.
