Dorothea Ann Wilkerson Morris

On October 29, 2014 Dorothea Ann Morris (nee Wilkerson) of Mt. Airy died at the age of 66 at Gilchrist Hospice Center surrounded by her loving family. Dorothea was the beloved wife of Thomas L. Morris; devoted mother of Thomas L. Morris, Jr. and his wife Erin, Matthew A. Morris and his wife Elizabeth and Ralph E. Barnes and his wife Laura; dear sister of Heidi Wilker and her husband Kenneth; loving aunt of Helena Herty and Eric Wilker and cherished friend of Lovetta Britton. Also survived by seven grandchildren.

Dorothy was very loving and giving. She organized sending meals and flowers to the sick at her church. She loved going on church outings with the ladies group, to women's retreats and Christian concerts. Although she lost her seven year battle with breast cancer, she fought long and hard, living her life with determination and joy.

Dorothy loved going to the Ocean, especially with her family. We all have wonderful cherished memories of ocean vacations. She also loved giving outstanding parties for her friends and family. We will always remember her tea parties, car club meetings, and Christmas parties. She was always trying new recipes from her many cookbooks. Dorothy was gifted with creativity in home decorating and gardening, making her home look as if it belonged in one of those home and garden magazines.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Inc. 7250 Washington Blvd., Elkridge, MD 21075 (Exit 6 South off Route 100) on Monday, November 3, 2014 from 3-5 and 7-9pm where a Celebration of Life will be held in the Kaufman Vermillion Chapel on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at 11:00am. Interment Meadowridge Memorial Park. Family wishes donations to be made in Dorothea's name to Gilchrist Hospice Center 5537 Twin Knolls Road, Suite 434, Columbia, Maryland 21045.
