Edward (Ed) Joseph Helmstetter of Linthicum, MD passed away on November 1, 2019 at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC due to complications that arose immediately after having a cardiac catherization procedure performed. He was 74 years old. Ed will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Sharon.
Born February 25, 1945 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Hazel Helmstetter Pulaski and Edward Helmstetter.
In addition to his loving wife, Sharon, Ed will forever be remembered by his sons, Edward (Eddie) Helmstetter, JR, Bryan Helmstetter and significant other, Jennifer Hubers; two grandchildren, Dylan Helmstetter and Garrett Helmstetter; his sister, Leslie Jeffers and husband Roland; his sister-in-law, Lois Frost, and brother-in-law, Ed Sauers and wife Joanne. He will also be fondly remembered by many other family members and friends.
Ed enjoyed playing golf, music, dancing, and traveling. He always enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, and friends. Ed was known for always having a smile on his face and his jovial personality – this is what people loved about him. And if ever there was a high-spirited person, it was Ed!
Before his retirement in 2013, Ed was a Sales Rep for Alban Tractor Co. in Baltimore, MD for many years.
A “Celebration of Ed’s Life” will be held later. Since spring was Ed’s favorite time of year, the family has chosen to have the Celebration in the Spring of Year 2020. As soon as the date, time, and place are finalized for the “Celebration of Ed’s Life, the family will send advanced notification to family and friends and hope all will be able to attend.
