Evan was one of my best and truest friends during our teenage years. I will never forget his fun loving energy, compassion and empathy for others, and natural enthusiasm for life. I have fond memories of listening to and discussing music at the family computer, watching the Ravens, and volleying a soccer or ping pong ball. Evan and I always drove each other to be better in school and athletics. I remember the night, fittingly during a ski trip, that we both found out we’d been accepted to UMD. We were so glad our work had paid off and that we’d be sharing the next chapter. That night was one of the happiest memories I have. Evan was an incredibly bright soul and a big influence on my life. All my love to you, Pat and Jerry. I’m so very sorry.

It was a pleasure to get to know Evan at a young age and see him grow up to such a wonderful young man. I knew Evan through club soccer and saw him both excel on the field and with the many friends he developed during those years. Evan you will be missed by many and most especially your family and friends from throughout your life. God bless. Coach Guenther

Pat and Jerry,
Jeff and I are so very sorry. I remember all the times you all went skiing together and your other family trips you three enjoyed so much. Evan, Danny, the Nic(k)s, Ryan, Kevin, John, Colin, Matt and all the boys around your house shared good times together. Please know I have wonderful memories of Evan, him joking around being a prankster. I'll never forget. May love stay alive inside your hearts and give you strength.
Sincerely, Maryanne and Jeff Mento

I have so many wonderful memories of Evan I don't know where to start. The many vacations we shared and the times I spent with him over the years were wonderful. He always used to tell me he didn't want to go out to eat where I wanted to take him, and then when Pat and Jerry got home he'd say what a great place it was. His wit, humor, personality, good looks and intelligence were always intimidating to most around him. Once you got to know him you realized what a great young man he was. Boy, could he ski! In fact if it came to any sport, he excelled at it. My deepest sorrow to Jerry and Pat.

We were Evan's California family, our son Spencer and Evan, two peas in a pod, connected in a very special way, feeding off each other, egging each other on, and being mischievous together, but two boys that really understood each other.
We were blessed to have been able to spend 3 months of quality time with him as an adult and to witness what a beautiful sensitive person he was.
Our memory will be of Evan's great smile, kindness, willingness to talk, the goofy mannerisms and our good times together.
We will miss him so much.... We love you Evan....Rest in Peace.
Pat and Jerry out heart goes out to you for your loss.

I've known Evan since he was 2 years old. I use to cut his hair and remember how cute he was . Through the years even though I didn't see him as frequently as Pat and Jerry I would hear how Evan was doing. He will be missed.
My heart goes out to you both May you be surrounded with Gods love and peace.

Evan was a kind and gentle soul and I feel honored to have known and interacted with him for many years. My son, Cory, was one of his best friends, and as such I shared many times with him. He was an expert skier, soccer player and good friend. His gentle kindness, and consideration will always be remembered...
Pat and Jerry, my thoughts and love are with you, now and always. Ken Kyser

My son, Kevin, and Evan became fast friends when they were just 4 years old in preschool. They remained friends and played soccer together in high school. I have so many memories of Evan throughout those years. Pat and Jerry, I am so deeply sorry for your loss...there are no words. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

My fondest memories of my somewhat brief time in Maryland are wrapped up in this family. Raising our sons together and the many adventures we shared will forever be alive in my heart. The love Pat and Jerry shared with Evan was a beacon of light and I feel so fortunate to have been a part of it. Evan was a highly gifted, beautiful and sensitive soul. There are no words to express my sorrow to my very dear friends. Love is Eternal...
