Mami Frida Ngum Tamambang, age 94, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2019. Originally from Cameroon, she was a beloved wife of the late Papa John Ngu Ngami and loving mother of the late Theresia Ngeche Ngu. She was the second born to Papa Awah Tamambang of Ntaturu in Alabukam, Mankon and Mami Kien- Feh of Akumulam, Mankon. Like Mami Frida her beloved elder sister (first-born) Mami Lydia Bih Tamambang “Mami Four-eyes” transitioned to glory a few years ago.
She was a loving and cherished sister who helped to raise so many of her siblings including younger brothers Daniel Tamambang, the retired Commissioner of Police; Colonel Tamambang (Heir of the Tamambang estate); and the late Joseph N. Tamambang “Man of Capital”; younger sisters Hon. Mafor Susan Takwi and Elizabeth Neh Tamambang.
She was a devoted grandmother of Dr. Clementine Frinwe Fomba, Manyi Pascaline Kien Nkwenti, Ms. Elizabeth Bih Teche, Minister Tina Lesley Nji, Vanilli Ngu and in-laws Mr. Clement Nji Achoa, Pastor Allen Nji, late Mr. Fabian Chi Andah, and late Mr. Felix Timah Teche.
As well as a devoted great-grandmother to Daisy-Nelly Ngum Nji, J.D., Lakiesha Ngelo Teche, Imari Ngeche Teche, John-Nathan Ngu Teche, Schnydy Ndah Andah, Iman Fru Andah, Imani Bih Andah, Mia-Ruth Maibale, and Adonai Ngangmi Nji. She will be greatly missed even at 94.

Family and friends are invited to gather at the Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Inc., 7250 Washington Boulevard, Elkridge, Maryland 21075 (Exit 6 South off Route 100) on Friday, July 19, 2019 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 10:00am with interment to follow at Meadowridge Memorial Park.
