James Edward Locke Sr., age 92, of Ellicott City, Maryland passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022. James was born March 8, 1930 in Meridian, Mississippi to parents Tom and Rachel Locke. James was the beloved husband of Ethel Locke and the devoted father of Gwendolyn McGee, Debrah Bryant, Patricia Locke, James E. Locke, JR., Delmia Johnson, Dennis Rocker, and Lynette Locke; dear brother of Dorthy Jones and the late Tom, Louis, Essie Lee and Anne Locke. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Inc. 7250 Washington Blvd. Elkridge, Maryland 21075 (Exit 6 South off Route 100) on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 5:00 - 8:00pm. Visitation will also be held at the First Baptist Church of Guilford 7504 Oakland Mills Road, Columbia, Maryland 21046 on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from 10:00 - 11:00am at which time a Celebration of LIfe Service will begin. Interment Meadowridge Memorial Park.
