Jimmy was a man with a personality all his own. While he could be reserved at first, those who knew him knew his wonderful sense of humor, genuine kindness, and unforgettable smile.
He was a devoted husband to Roma Ann Pence and a loving father to Miranda Rose Pence and Megan Eileen Timmons-Nies. He treasured time with his family, especially playing cards, sharing stories, and laughing together.
Jimmy took great pride in his career as an HVAC supervisor at the University of Maryland, where he built lasting friendships. Outside of work, he enjoyed a cold Miller Lite, grilling, cheering for the Washington Redskins, and spending time with those he loved.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, James William Pence, Sr. and Laveda Faye Cowan, and his brothers, Douglas Cleave Pence and Charles Jason Pence.
He is survived by his wife, Roma Ann Pence; his daughters, Miranda Rose Pence and her boyfriend, Joshua Mieles, and Megan Eileen Timmons-Nies and her husband, Patrick Andrew Nies; his sister, Debra Louise Feese and her husband, Kevin Harrison Feese; his brother-in-law, Sam Paul DiMisa; his sister-in-law, Susan Marie DiMisa; and many extended family members, friends, and colleagues.
Jimmy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Gary L Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Inc. 7250 Washington Blvd., Elkridge, MD 21075 (Exit 6 South off Route 100) on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 from 3:00-5:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm where a Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at 11:00am. Interment Meadowridge Memorial Park.
