If music could sing deeply within anyone's soul, it would be Jeff's. If a joy for soccer and the Redskins could pound in anyone's heart, it would be his. If the salt waters of an ocean swam through anyone's veins... and if pride—pride in family and his daughters—were a bell, it would ring in his heart every day.
Jeff lived an unapologetic life of love and laughter. He had a smile that lit up a room, a bear hug that wiped away any tears, and a stubbornness that just made you laugh. He was a man of broad shoulders, built perfectly for resting your head or for the weight of a child. Devoted to music, he played guitar and sang at every occasion, bringing people together with his voice. Soccer was a giant part of his life as well, he played some but enjoyed being a soccer coach for years and years, leading teams to championships and instilling the passion for the sport in young people everywhere. Fishing was a joy with him, he would crack open a beer, cast out a line, and be patient. He was a simple kind of man, but his tastes were not. Jeff the Chef he was called, for he would make five-star meals every day. You can count yourself unlucky if you didn't get a chance to taste his famous black beans and rice. Jeff had so much talent, skillful talent yes, but he had a way of making you feel special, and that was a gift in itself.
Jeff fought a great fight against Pancreatic Cancer. After diagnosis, he gave his family and children a whole year. We cherish the memory of Jeff deeply, knowing he is at peace with the Lord. You are the true winner, Jeff. We dedicate every song, game, and catch to you.
Love and peace, Jeff.
We love you, Daddy.
