On Sunday, December 2, 2018, Joanne Bernice Burke, (nee Davis) of Severna Park, MD, formerly of Irvington, MD. Beloved wife of Donald E. Burke, loving mother of Scott A., Michelle L and Timothy M. Burke. Sister of Margaret C. Byrne, Delbert C. Davis, Jr., Mary "Kitty" Banner, L.B. Walls and Linda B. Vitchock. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Joanne dedicated her life not only to her family, but to God and her church. She was essential to St. John the Evangelist parish, Severna Park, MD. and was devoted to and worked at St. Joseph's Monastery, Irvington, MD. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Inc., 7250 Washington Boulevard, Elkridge, MD 21075 (exit 6 off Rt. 100 south) on Sunday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm where a Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 10, 2018 at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Elkridge, MD. If desired, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the A.S.P.C.A. or the Alzheimer's Association.

You were the personification of the phrase "be the light you want to see in the world". You taught us patience, love, compassion for others. You never judged anyone and loved unconditionally. You complimented and chatted with random strangers and gave a little bit more light in everyone's life. I love you, mom.
