John J. Frey passed-away on October 19, 2024 in Frederick, Maryland at the age of 89. John was a lifelong Marylander having been born in Baltimore and graduating from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute (“Poly.”) He had a distinguished career dedicated to creating new centers of Higher Education, working at Baltimore City Community College and the State of Maryland before starting his own company (C&J Consulting Ltd) to support further development of Maryland schools and colleges.
John is survived by Carol, his beloved wife of 60 years; his daughter Suzette and her husband Steve Lamb; his cherished grandson, Shaun Lamb; his sister's children Michele (Novak) Bykowski and Joseph Novak. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Hilda, and his sister, Barbara Novak.
John loved playing a round of golf with friends, and enjoyed watching the Ravens and Orioles.
John will be deeply missed by his family.
A Visitation for John will be held Sunday, October 27, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at MMP, Inc., 7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD 21075, where a Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024 at 1:00 PM; Burial Meadowridge Memorial Park.
