Tim lived a life full of stories, laughter, and the open water. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, he brought energy and authenticity to every room—and every conversation—he entered.
A proud graduate of Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, Tim carried his Poly spirit with him throughout his life. His career reflected that same drive and dedication. Tim began his automotive career at Schulte Ford, a place that shaped his early professional years and where he built relationships that lasted a lifetime. When Schulte Ford was later purchased by Bob Bell, Tim continued his work there, becoming a trusted and respected presence. A Ford man through and through, he was known for his strong work ethic, loyalty, and genuine connection with customers and colleagues.
Tim was also a passionate Baltimore sports fan. Whether it was cheering on the Ravens or rooting for the Orioles, he followed his hometown teams with pride, recording every score for every game.
The Chesapeake Bay was his second home. Tim loved crabbing the Wye River, and he was happiest with traps in the water and family by his side. He also had a real passion for water skiing—and he was genuinely good at it. Whether he was carving across the wake or showing off a bit for the crowd, Tim brought the same confidence and joy to the water that he brought to the rest of his life. And of course, no memory of Tim would be complete without mentioning his legendary Donzi—the fastest boat on the Magothy River, as he would proudly tell anyone within earshot. If you ever found yourself in a conversation with Tim, chances are you heard that story more than once. That was part of his charm.
Tim is survived by his loving wife, Karin; his son Kurt Rau and wife Jenny; his daughter Christine Wehrle and husband Jason; and his cherished grandchildren, Matthew Rau and Morgan Wehrle. His family was his greatest joy, and he carried immense pride in each of them.
We invite you to join us as we lay him to rest and celebrate the life, stories, and spirit he shared so generously with everyone around him.
