On November 5, 2022, Joseph Anthony Martinetti, Jr., of Odenton, Maryland passed away at the age of 86. Joe was born on October 2, 1936 to parents the late Joseph and Elvera Martinetti. Joe was the beloved husband of Ella Martinetti (nee Zaffino) and the devoted father of Jennifer Schmorr (Jason) and Geoffrey Martinetti (Kate); dear brother of Anthony Martinetti, Robert Martinetti (the late Susan), Paul Martinetti (Caroline) and the late Ursula Parise.
Joe was born and raised in New Rochelle, N.Y. After graduating from New Rochelle High School in 1954, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and rose to the rank of Recon Sargeant. He bravely fought in the Korean War and proudly served his country overseas in Japan, Korea, and the Philippines. After 10 years of service, he was honorably discharged and started his career as a Bus Operator with Liberty Lines in Westchester County, N.Y. He retired from Liberty Lines after 37 years in 1998. During his retirement, Joe still held a couple of jobs as a Delivery Man for Lincoln Park Bakery in Yonkers, N.Y. and as a Shuttle Driver for the Anthony J. Posillipo Senior Center in Rye Brook, N.Y. After living in Yonkers, N.Y. for 30 years, Joe and his wife, Ella, became Marylanders in 2016 to be closer to their daughter. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cheering for his favorite sports teams the New York Yankees, Kansas City Chiefs, and Penn State Nittany Lions, listening to country music, and spending time at his summer home in the Pocono Mountains, P.A. He will be dearly missed by all! Rest in Peace.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1283 Odenton Road, Odenton, Maryland 21113 on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 10:00am. Entombment Meadowridge Memorial Park.
