It is with heavy hearts that we bid farewell to Karen Ann Bennett, whose journey on this earth has peacefully come to an end. Karen was a beacon of creativity and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to have known her.
Her love for the arts was evident in her exceptional talents as a poet and musician. Karen's mastery of language and melody brought beauty and solace to many. She had a deep appreciation for music of all genres, forging lasting connections with friends around the world.
Karen's life was enriched by her loving partnership with her husband, Raul Lara-Bajandas, with whom she shared countless moments of happiness and tranquility. Her generous spirit extended beyond her immediate circle, as she generously supported the education of talented young artists, fostering their growth under the guidance of esteemed musician, Mr. Rodney Jones, a faculty member of the prestigious Juilliard School of Music.
In addition to her artistic pursuits, Karen found joy in the simple wonders of life, from playing the piano with grace to capturing the breathtaking beauty of nature through her lens. Her spiritual devotion grounded her journey, infusing it with meaning and purpose.
Karen leaves behind a legacy of love and inspiration, cherished by her beloved family: husband Raul Lara-Bajandas, son Francis Monticelli, grandson Taylor Monticelli, and great-grandchildren Nazereno and Zario Monticelli. Though parted from us, she is reunited in spirit with her predeceased grandson Robert Flowers Monticelli.
In the hearts of her sister Susan Bennett, brothers Lawrence H. Bennett III and Robert Bennett, and her devoted parents Lawrence Henry Bennett II and Geraldine Frances Painter, Karen's memory will live on as a source of comfort and strength.
As we mourn her loss, let us also celebrate the life of Karen Ann Bennett—a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend. May her spirit continue to inspire us to embrace creativity, kindness, and the beauty of the world around us.
