Leemorse "Lee" Bynum Jr. was born on May 18, 1958 in Brooklyn, New York, to his beloved parents, Leemorse Sr. and the late Christine Bynum.
On May 17, 2026 — just one day before his 68th birthday, Lee was called home unexpectedly, leaving behind an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who knew and cherished him.
He graduated from Fashion Industry School in NY, worked at the showroom at Misty Harbor before migrating to Washington, DC.
As a young man, Lee moved through life with a rare and a natural gift for connecting with people from all walks of life. He served as a counselor at a trade school, offering guidance to those building their futures, he was a limousine driver, and he worked at Hecht's department. Later, his love for cars landed him at CarMax in Laurel, MD that he called his second home and family.
In 1997, Lee married his wife Telita, their union was rooted in love and devotion. Together they built a life filled with love and cherished memories.
Lee had a deep love for travel, especially to the warm sunny-shores of the Caribbean, where he could unwind, enjoy the sunshine and create lasting memories with family and close friends. He was passionate about cars, especially luxury vehicles, which made his career at CarMax a natural fit. His appreciation for fashion was unmistakable to miss; Lee was known for his sharp effortless style and his signature hats and watches that became a part of him, just like his smile. Lee was a talented photographer with a gift for capturing the perfect angles and bringing out everyone's true essence in every shot.
Lee owned an extensive collection of music and he was a fan of action movies, his favorites were James Bond films, the John Wick series, and the Fast and Furious movies. He also loved collecting international cognac, shot glasses and sipping champagne.
Lee never met a stranger, he carried a big heart. He had a larger-than-life personality, a contagious laugh, a gift of storytelling, and a seamless way to make everyone around him feel welcome. He loved to dance, to joke, and enjoy life to the fullest. Whether he was traveling to a favorite island, spending time with family, relaxing with friends, or listening to music. Lee embraced life with style, humor and energy.
More than anything, Lee was a devoted husband, a proud father, loving brother, a joyful grandfather, uncle, cousin, a loyal friend and someone who genuinely loved living life. He will be remembered for the joy he poured into the lives of everyone he touched.
His presence, his humor, his style, and his spirit will leave a permanent mark on the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know him. The memories he created will live on forever.
He was preceded in death by his siblings Sandy and David.
