Lois Elaine Gipson

Lois “Elaine” Gipson of Columbia, MD (formerly of Georgetown, TX, Springfield, MO and Columbia, MO) died on July 28, 2018 at the age of 74 years of complications from Parkinson's Disease. Elaine was born on June 26, 1944 in Kansas City, MO. She loved God and her family with all her heart and soul. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, including going to movies and cooking her family’s favorite meals. In her spare time, she enjoyed cake decorating, drawing, painting, coloring and making crafts, including cherished Christmas ornaments and stockings adorned with fine threads and sequins. She loved and decorated her home in sunflowers and birdhouses. She loved to travel and as a young woman lived in Laon, France and Bremerhaven, Germany. She was a career-minded woman as a book keeper/accountant and was a master at the 10-key. She graduated from Grandview High School in 1962 and attended the University of Missouri-KC for two years 1981-1983. Her favorite quote was, “What the mind can conceive and believe, it WILL achieve.”

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Charles Anderson Gipson of Columbia, MD; daughter, Tara Renee Titus Holleran (Austin, TX); daughter, Teresa Michelle Titus-Howard married to Donald Patrick Howard, Jr. (Columbia, MD); son, Jeffery Anderson Gipson married to Heather Strate Ingrum Gipson (Arlington, VA); eight grandchildren Tayler, Ashley, Patrick, Mariah, Jackson, Svere, Oscar, and Mary Alice; and five great grandchildren Keely, Jozy, Gunner, Kaeden and Kaeci.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date with immediate family. Words of sympathy may be sent to the family C/O Gary L.
