Mark Allen Goetz, Sr., 61, went home to be with the Lord on November 18, 2025. Born on August 17, 1964, in Baltimore, Maryland, Mark lived a life marked by faith, loyalty, humor, and an unwavering love for those God placed in his path.
Mark is survived by his devoted wife, Denise, his son Mark, his stepdaughter Kandice, and his cherished granddaughter Ava Goetz, who was the absolute light of his life. He is also survived by many extended family members and countless friends who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father Jacob, mother Marie “Betty”, brothers Jake and David “Bunz”, and his beloved Aunt Pat, along with numerous family members whom he deeply loved and respected.
Mark’s faith was the foundation of his life—he loved the Lord wholeheartedly and filled his days with scripture, often listening to his audio Bible from morning to night. A true Baltimore son, he was a proud and lifelong Baltimore Ravens fan, cheering them on through every season.
Anyone who knew Mark knew his wicked sense of humor—sharp, playful, and always perfectly timed. His laughter filled rooms, and his quick wit brought joy to those around him, even in the toughest moments.
Mark enjoyed the simple joys of life: the harmonies of barbershop chorus music, a good game of pool or table tennis, and the peaceful moments spent with a fishing rod in hand—even if fishing was more about the relaxation than the catch. He especially treasured the comfort of Denise’s home-cooked meals, with her beef stroganoff holding a special place in his heart. And despite being diabetic, he could never refuse the secret sweets slipped to him by his neighbor, Earl, a friendship that brought him much laughter.
Above all, Mark loved his family, and his world revolved around them. His kindness, his wit, his steadfast faith, and his genuine spirit touched everyone who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and joy.
Mark will be deeply missed, but the assurance of his eternal home brings comfort to all who loved him. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those blessed to share life with him.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at South Shore Church, 725 Herald Harbor, Crownsville, Maryland 21032 on December 20, 2025 at 10am. Inurnment Private.
