

Max Bauer, born Oct. 4, 1936 in Bavaria Germany passed away peacefully in his sleep on Aug. 22, 2023 after an illness.
He was a German craftsman, cabinet maker who immigrated to America at the age of 21. He met and married Margie Bauer, and they have two daughters. He later became a US citizen.
He owned Max Bauer's Cabinet Shop, a successful cabinet business for over 50 years making cabinetry for NSA, the Pentagon, 29 banks in the area, and many kitchens and other beautiful woodwork. He lived in Linthicum, then moved to Ellicott City, then moved back to Anne Arundel County.
He is survived by his daughters Margaret Wiltrout and Susan Weyer and her husband Larry Weyer, along with six grandchildren; Dustin, Eric and Nicholas Wiltrout and wife Saxony, Ashley and Jake Weyer, and Katie Burgan and husband Brad Burgan. He also has two great grandsons Bradley and Dylan Burgan. Also many family members in Germany; sisters Berta Drexler and Elfieda Frisch (and their late husbands Fred Drexler and Hans Frisch), and nieces Gabby and Katrin and nephews Hans, Manfred and Fred and their families.
There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, September 9, 2023, 11:00 am at the Gary L Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, 7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD 21075 . All friends and family are invited.
