Michael Donald Parkinson, age 79, of Baltimore, Maryland passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024. Born to the late Donald W. and Frances L. Parkinson, Mike lived a life marked by dedication, service, and a unique flair for the magical and mystical.
Mike proudly served his country as a member of the Air Force during the Vietnam War, a testament to his bravery and commitment. Following his military service, he spent 25 years with BGE, and later worked as a security guard at Cysco before his well-deserved retirement.
A man of many talents and passions, Mike was an avid artist, magician, and mentalist. He spent his retirement years perfecting his craft, often leaving his audience in awe with his wizard-like card and mind tricks. Known for his sharp wit and sense of humor, Mike was a true jokester at heart, bringing laughter and joy to those around him. His loyalty and camaraderie were evident through his active membership at the American Legion Hall Post 109, where he made many lasting friendships and will be fondly remembered by his fellow members.
Mike leaves behind his Beloved Wife, Barbara Parkinson; Loving Son, Mike Parkinson (Jennifer) and Step Sons Glen Miller and Frank Miller (Lisa); Brother Donald Parkinson; Nephew and Nieces, Don S. Parkinson, Carrie Anne Jackson, and Missy Taylor.
A visitation for Mike will be held Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at MMP, Inc., 7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD 21075. A funeral service will occur Friday, February 2, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Interment to immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Michael's memory can be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
