Michael was predeceased by his cherished wife of 44 years, Donna Burchill Sponheimer. He is survived by his loving son, Michael Alton Sponheimer Jr., and his dear grandchildren, Austin Sponheimer and Jason Sponheimer. Michael is also survived by his brother, Louis Sponheimer, and his wife, Ivy, as well as his step-sister, Gloria Kovalchik. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Ruth Sponheimer, and his sister, Ruth Sponheimer.
Visitation will be held at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at MMP, Inc., located at 7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD, 21075, on October 27, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and again from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at the same location on October 28, 2025, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, followed by a committal service at Meadowridge Memorial Park, also located at 7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD, 21075, from 10:00 am to 10:15 am.
