Mimi was the first registered female member of the Maryland Watermen's Association in the mid-1970’s. Mimi also ran the marina that was part of their homestead. Mimi and her grandson “Wing” started a business called Cap’t. Pete’s Eels catching, preparing, and selling eels to local fisherman for bait. Mimi always had a mischievous twinkle in her hydrangea blue eyes. She was dearly loved by her family, extended family and friends. A family member gracefully described Mimi’s passing as “a light has gone out from our world”. Mimi is survived by her two daughters, her beloved grandson Peter “Wing” Grabowski of Portland, Oregon, her dear, loving sister Ruth Sherwood of Elkridge, and many nieces and nephews. Mimi was preceded in death by her mother, husband, and father. Donations to Angela Hospice in Miriam’s name are kindly suggested in lieu of flowers. We all loved Aunt Mimi so much! She was so mischievous! I remember when she showed us her latest tattoo in the middle of Olive Garden. It would have been better viewed if she was wearing a bathing suit. Cracked us all up. She loved her girls and Peter John - her pride and joy.

My greatest memory of Mimi was how much she loved her girl’s and grandson! When she was leaving a family get together I would think o lord how long is this going to take ,Vicky would say I love you mom and Mimi would say I love you too Vicky but this would go on for a good 25 minutes it would tickle me ! We were very blessed to know Mimi I’m going to miss her she was a very sweet lady ! She always did something silly that made you laugh when she was around ! Prayers to her family 🙏🏻
