Pastor Calvin Jordan

R. Calvin Jordan, age 83 of Beaufort, S.C. died October 19, 2025.

Born in Florence S.C August 18, 1942 to the late Roger C. and Lucille Pfaehler Jordan.

Pastor Jordan graduated from Newberry College and the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia S.C. and was ordained in 1968. He served parishes in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and St. Philips, Baltimore, MD and Trinity Lutheran in Joppa, MD. He did continue his education at Johns Hopkins University, Gettysburg Seminary and St. Mary’s Seminary.

Calvin traveled extensively with his wife Sandi and believed the world to be his classroom and the people his teachers. He loved animals and had them as family all his life. Enjoyed college football, Lacrosse, Volleyball, Rugby and especially Soccer. Read Historical Fiction and had a wonderful curiosity about all things. He never met a stranger.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years Sandra (Sandi) Brown Jordan a retired Registered Nurse. A son Christopher Brent Jordan of Pennsylvania preceded him in death. He is also survived by his brother David P. Jordan (Becki), sisters Lucy Anne J. Laufer (the late Hans) and Rebecca J. Thompson (the late John), sister-in-law Cindy Brown Butler (Bill), and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Respecting his wishes there will be No VIEWING and only a public graveside service on Saturday October 25, 2025 at 1:00pm, at Meadowridge Memorial Park, 7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, Maryland 21075.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to one’s local animal shelter or to a favorite animal charity.
